When you launch or use the Mobile Software, we collect your device type and IP address. This information is gathered for all Mobile Software users. In addition, we may use the unique device ID provided by Apple for your iOS mobile device (“Device ID”). We use the Device ID to authenticate users and to confirm that users are logged in. If you use the Mobile Software, the location of the mobile device on which the Mobile Software is installed may be tracked by TastemakerX and users of the Service. You can control when other Users can see your location through your privacy settings.
Through the registration process you may provide us with your name, company affiliation, email address, telephone number, physical address, and other information that may be requested during the registration process.
When you use the Service you may submit information and content to your Profile, share tastes and preferences through trading and liking, send messages, perform searches, and otherwise transmit information to other Users. We store this information so that we can provide you the service and offer personalized features.
We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Service. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your User Content.
TastemakerX does not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for TastemakerX or send any information about you to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No one under age 13 may provide any information to or on TastemakerX. Once you register with TastemakerX, you may create your Profile. Your Profile information, as well as your contact information, are displayed to other Users. We may use your contact information to send you notifications regarding new services offered by TastemakerX and its partners that we think you may find valuable. TastemakerX may also send you service-related announcements from time to time through the general operation of the Service. Generally, you may opt out of such emails, although TastemakerX reserves the right to send you notices about your account even if you opt out of all voluntary email notifications.
Profile information is used by TastemakerX primarily to be presented back to and edited by you when you access the Service and to be presented to others. In some cases, other Users may be able to supplement your Profile, including by submitting comments and reviews.
TastemakerX may use aggregate or anonymous data collected through the Service to analyze Service usage and system performance or to otherwise improve the Service. This data may be used by TastemakerX and shared with third parties in any manner.
You may choose to provide information about you, your company or organization to other Users and to the public by providing such information on public areas of the Service accessible by other Users (“Public Information”). Public information does not include information you submit to us but do not post on areas of the Service accessible by other Users and/or the public (“Non-Public Information”).
We share your Non-Public Information with third parties only in limited circumstances where we believe such sharing is reasonably necessary to offer the Service, legally required or, permitted by you. For example:
When you use the Service, certain information you post may be shared with other Users in accordance with the privacy settings you select. All such sharing of information is done at your own risk. TastemakerX may contain links to other websites. We are of not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites. We encourage Users to be aware when they leave the Service to read the privacy statements of other websites that collect personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by TastemakerX via the Service.
Advertisements that appear on TastemakerX are sometimes delivered (or “served”) directly to Users by third party advertisers. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. These third party advertisers may also download cookies to your computer, or use other technologies such as JavaScript and “web beacons” (also known as “1x1 gifs”) to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. Doing this allows the advertising network to recognize your computer each time they send you an advertisement in order to measure the effectiveness of their ads and to personalize advertising content. In this way, they may compile information about where individuals using your computer or browser saw their advertisements and determine which advertisements are clicked. TastemakerX does not have access to or control of the cookies or other technologies that may be used by the third party advertisers. Third party advertisers have no access to your contact information stored on TastemakerX unless you choose to share it with them. This privacy policy covers the use of cookies by TastemakerX and does not cover the use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any of its advertisers.
Users may modify or delete their Profile information by logging into their account. Removed information may persist in backup copies but will not be generally available to other Users. Where you make use of the communication features of the service to share information with other Users (e.g., sending a message to another User) you generally cannot remove such communications from the Service.
TastemakerX takes reasonable precautions to protect Users' Non-Public Information. Your account information is located on a secured server behind a firewall. Because email and instant messaging are not secure communications, we cannot guarantee the security of any private information sent to us by email or instant messaging services.
